Toronto-based Crawford Technologies, a provider of document solutions that streamline, improve and manage customer communications, has announced the launch of AccessibilityNow.com, a new e-commerce site that makes it possible to quickly and cost-effectively convert PDFs into accessible documents. The site offers “fast turnaround times and the lowest cost options available in the market so that organizations can quickly convert their documents to be compliant with accessibility regulations at minimal cost,” said the company. “Prior to this, high costs and lengthy turnaround times were constraints in ensuring that blind, partially-sighted and cognitively-impaired individuals had access to documents that met their needs. With an intuitive design, AccessibilityNow.com makes it possible for users to easily upload PDF files, immediately receive a price quote, and quickly get their files back in the new format.”
The technology leverages Crawford Technologies’ award-winning software program, Auto Tagger for Accessibility, to simplify the process of converting PDF files into compliant Accessible PDFs (PDF/UA and WCAG). It also offers the ability for converted documents to be tested and certified to meet the standards and guidelines specified in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), WCAG 2.0, Section 508, Section 255, Section 504, EN 301 549, and other global regulations.
“With the ability to tag hundreds of pages per second, AccessibilityNow.com is the most rapid and economical way to remediate traditional PDF files into Accessible PDFs,” said Ernie Crawford, President and CEO of Crawford Technologies. “We believe that accessibility shouldn’t be expensive or difficult. And we’re proud to be leaders in making accessible documents available to everyone.”
