Kyocera unveils DMConnect Pro for digital data capture from paper documents

kyoceradmconnectpro-inKyocera Document Solutions America’s new capture-and-distribution business application provides several essential functions, including information capture from paper documents and 2D barcode scanning. DMConnect Pro uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to interpret and extract information from scanned documents. Data from paper documents can be captured, processed and routed to any system or database, anywhere in the enterprise. The application automatically applies customizable templates for different document types and allows users to correct, add and search for specific data – all through the intuitive drag-and-drop user interface on the MFP control panel. “Companies don’t just need access to documents, they need access to the information within those documents,” said Douglas Cole, Director of Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing Division, Kyocera Document Solutions America. “DMConnect Pro provides our customers with a way to do just that – quickly, easily and securely.” With the addition of Kyocera’s Card Authentication kit, DMConnect Pro can integrate with an active directory to further increase security. Employees can use their existing HID proximity cards to establish their access credentials with a single swipe.

DMConnect Pro also features scanning capabilities using QR codes such as 2D and PDF-417 type barcodes, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing the potential for human error. Barcode scanning functionality is particularly valuable for law firms and other enterprises that store and retrieve files with hundreds or thousands of documents. The solution is one of over 60 business applications offered by Kyocera Document Solutions to help companies streamline their document management process more efficiently and cost-effectively on any HyPAS-enabled Kyocera MFP. “Apps help enterprises across industries simplify and improve their work processes,” said Danielle Wolowitz, Vice President, Corporate Marketing Division, Kyocera Document Solutions America. “DMConnect Pro is an application that doesn’t just enhance the way companies manage paper-based information – it completely changes the game!”
