PressWise Print MIS to showcase new features at Print 18

At this year’s Print 18 tradeshow in Chicago, Illinois, SmartSoft will be showcasing the latest tools and features that have been added to PressWise – its all-in-one Web-to-Print, MIS and workflow automation platform. Print 18 will take place September 30 to October 2 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago. PressWise (Booth 549 in the Prepress Design and Workflow Software area) provides printers with a complete cloud-based print-shop management system designed to eliminate manual touches from the print workflow to help printers grow their businesses. It includes unlimited web-to-print storefronts, print estimating, order management, production automation, shipping and fulfillment, mail processing and integration into accounting systems.
Some of the latest tools and enhancements showcased will include:

  • New Analytics and Reporting Dashboards. The introduction of a powerful new embedded analytics and reporting platform will provide graphical, real-time information on sales, production, etc. The system will also provide customers with the ability to create and use their own custom quote letters, job tickets, invoices and more.
  • Accounting Codes for in-plant print shops, or those facilities that use complex billing codes (sometimes known as chargeback accounts or fund codes). PressWise has added Accounting Codes, which allow the designation of Categories, and then unique Codes within these categories. Each order can have one or more accounting code combinations in it, allowing for detailed month-end account reporting.
  • Accounts Receivable/Multi-Invoice Payment. Users can now select multiple invoices (either via the storefront or the back end) and enter a single payment to apply to all those selected orders at once. This reduces the amount of data entry for accounting, as well as the number of transactions that need to be processed by credit card processing providers.
  • Additional Enhancements. A program of ongoing feature enhancements and releases have seen many other improvements to the system over the past year – including enhanced pre-press tools such as: checks to ensure that artwork is in a print-ready PDF/X format; UI enhancements; additional tools for importing and exporting inventory data such as stock minimums and maximums; new finishing task calculations; more finely tuned press speeds for greater control over pricing; and much more.

Joseph Lehn.

“The Presswise development team has had a very busy year since the last major print tradeshow. Our industry is constantly evolving, and our customers’ needs and requirements continue to evolve with it,” said Joseph Lehn, Director of Product Management at PressWise. “We can’t afford to sit still and are always looking at ways to make our product even better. Besides long-term major product enhancements and new features that form our product road map, our customers provide us with a steady stream of ideas and requests on a daily basis – which keep us busy and provides a wealth of great ideas for us to continue to lead the way in cloud-based print automation and workflow management.”
