Mark Andy (St. Louis, Missouri) has announced the launch of its latest production inkjet press, the Digital Series iQ. Built on Mark Andy’s proven Evolution Series flexographic platform for application flexibility, the press uses a Domino N610i UV inkjet module for high-quality, production-class printing. With proven digital technology from Domino (Gurnee, Illinois) and Mark Andy’s award-winning web-handling and digital implementation, the Digital Series iQ “delivers maximum performance at an affordable initial capital investment level.” Joining Mark Andy’s digital hybrid solutions – Digital Series HD and Digital Pro – Digital Series iQ follows the path of the OEM’s digital portfolio devices by combining high-resolution digital print and the flexibility of inline converting to maximize revenue generation. The Digital Series iQ Press can be configured with up to 7 UV inkjet colours (CMYKOV+WW). Hybrid converting components can be integrated to meet each customer’s specific requirements. Print stations, semi-rotary die cutting, rail system and inline slitting have been common options selected by some early adopters of the press.
The new press has high quality print resolution achieving speeds up to 230 fpm (70 mpm) in rapid production mode. It also integrates software solutions from industry leaders Esko and Global Graphics – including ScreenPro for workflow and digital front-end (DFE) processes, to processing of files and variable data or high-SKU-count applications. Consumables are available through Mark Andy’s Print Products Division, and full system support will be provided by the OEM’s dedicated digital customer support team. Domino technical service staffers are currently working closely with the Mark Andy team to support the rollout.
“We are excited for the partnership with Mark Andy, a company with a reputation for prioritizing their customers’ needs and new technology,” said David Ellen, Divisional Director at Domino Digital Printing Solutions. “By marrying their best-in-class flexographic printing and converting machinery with Domino’s renowned inkjet technology, we expect Digital Series iQ to emerge as a leading hybrid solution for a wide variety of applications.” Virtual demos of Digital Series iQ will begin in late February. Mark Andy and Domino will also jointly host a virtual ribbon-cutting and product-unveiling event on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
