Agfa Graphics will be demonstrating new automation and feature enhancements for its Jeti Tauro and Jeti Mira UV inkjet printing systems at ISA’s Sign Expo April 20 in Orlando, Florida. Extremely vivid printing will be demonstrated with the new Jeti Tauro, featuring an advanced ABF (Automatic Board Feeder) for productivity gains, as well as the Jeti Mira with a new RTR (Roll-To-Roll) system designed for greater versatility and waste reduction.
mira+jetiadvancements2-inThe 105.9-inch (2.69 m) Jeti Mira flatbed printer with moving gantry is built for heavy industrial workloads and produces outstanding quality in six colours plus white with optional primer or varnish. Its 7-picolitre droplet size produces “stunning detail and razor-sharp text as small as 4-point type.” It’s being demonstrated with a dockable RTR system that attaches to the front of the flatbed table, reducing the distance the media needs to travel and further decreasing the chance of skewing while also improving accuracy. Its Print & Prepare mode reduces downtime and increases productivity by allowing operators to load one side of the table while the other side is printing. Six vacuum zones enable fast, accurate double-sided printing.

The Jeti Tauro, a hybrid printer designed for the quality and productivity demands of high-end sign and display printers, features media tables, an integrated RTR system and can be upgraded with a semi-automated board feeder (ABF) and stacker. The ABF reduces idle time and increases efficiency with productivity gains up to 30%. The 98-inch (2.5 m) Jeti Tauro features six colours plus white and/or primer option, and is designed for high productivity printing (24/7) on both rigid and flexible material with speeds up to 2960 ft²/hour. The system’s vacuum-belt drive features excellent motion control that, regardless of the media being printed, results in “extreme dot positioning accuracy.”

“Agfa Graphics’ pursuit of printing excellence is driven by our customers’ dedication to and passion for their craft. The new options help print service providers achieve higher efficiency and expand their market,” said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing at Agfa Graphics North America (right). “The options increase print service providers’ productivity, reduce media waste and offer outstanding print quality on a variety of substrates. We’re proud to deliver the most robust portfolio of award-winning inkjet printing systems for any size print provider – from entry level to high-end industrial market segments.”
Both the Jeti Tauro and Jeti Mira are driven by Asanti, Agfa Graphics’ wide-format workflow software that controls the entire process – from prepress to production to finishing. Asanti’s comprehensive integration of file handling, colour management and preflighting reduces the risk of mistakes and makes the entire system more productive. Asanti is complemented by Asanti StoreFront, Agfa Graphics’ web-to-print solution that seamlessly manages a printer’s online stores and processes print orders automatically.
