Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) has announced that Ian Lifshitz, Director of Sustainability for the Americas, has been named Co-Chair of the Paper, Pulp and Forestry (PPF) Sector Working Group for The Sustainability Consortium. He will co-lead the working group as it examines sustainability issues (environmental, social and economic) for several forestry products – including lumber, engineered wood products, books, facial tissue and greeting cards. Composed of industry experts, non-profit organizations and academic & research institutions, the group will provide insights and share best practices on effective integration supply chain solutions to sustainability challenges.
“It’s a great honour to be appointed Co-Chair of this valuable working group for The Sustainability Consortium,” said Lifshitz. “APP was one of the first major pulp and paper companies to implement a comprehensive Zero Deforestation supply chain policy, so we are uniquely positioned to provide insights in this area. I look forward to sharing our learning and collaborating with this talented group of individuals working to progress global sustainability initiatives across multiple industries.”
Consortium Working Groups are chartered groups of The Sustainability Consortium members and invited participants. Led by a Sustainability Consortium director and academic staff, the working group members collaborate to identify issues, opportunities and key performance indicators that measure sustainability progress at a product-category level.
