BenQ America (Costa Mesa, CA) an international provider of visual display solutions, has unveiled its professional, factory-calibrated PD Series Design Monitor by releasing the new PD2500Q display. Ideal for graphic design, photography, CAD/CAM, animation and video post-production professionals, the new colour monitor is the first in the series that will be individually calibrated by factory engineers to produce 100% sRGB and Rec. 709 colour precision. In the future, all designer monitors in the PD Series will be professionally and individually factory-calibrated, the company added. The BenQ Group is a $22-billion-plus company comprised of nearly 20 independent firms operating in over 30 countries across numerous industries with a combined workforce of over 100,000 employees.
“Consistent, accurate colour reproduction from start to finish is the ultimate hallmark for any creative professional. Unfortunately, it can be difficult and time-consuming to get it just right,” said Steve Yang, Senior Director at BenQ America. “By factory calibrating each PD Series designer monitor, we’re ensuring every display is optimized to achieve design perfection for every project right out of the box.” BenQ’s PD2500Q 25″ 2K QHD (2,560 x 1,440) LED IPS panel is the first monitor in the PD designer monitor series to be individually calibrated by factory engineers, “bringing out the finest details in superb clarity and depth to inspire absolute design confidence.” As mentioned, the custom calibration ensures 100% sRGB and Rec. 709 colour gamut accuracy and meets Technicolor Color Certification and strict Delta-E and Gamma tolerances.
Custom features for designers
The BenQ PD2500Q offers smart tools specifically developed for designers – including CAD/CAM Mode, Animation Mode and Darkroom Mode, each addressing specific creative requirements. CAD/CAM Mode activates superior contrast for lines and shapes in technical illustrations, accentuating the finest details in Pro/E, Solidworks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or other design software. Animation Mode enhances the brightness of dark areas without overexposing bright regions, to overcome often-challenging design work with intricate details in dark images. Finally, Darkroom Mode creates the optimal image brightness and contrast for work in darkened, post-processing environments for superb clarity and detail sharpness. The ultra-slim bezel and DP out (Multi-Stream Transport, MST) are ideal for dual-monitor set-ups, and its 90-degree pivoting, height-adjustable stand enhances display productivity and versatility. The monitor features a comprehensive array of connectivity options including DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort, HDMI, USB 3.1 Gen1, headphone and audio ports.
