BenQ America (Costa Mesa, California) a leading innovator of professional displays, has added to its Creative Class monitor series. Engineered with professional designers in mind, the BenQ PD2700Q 27-inch colour monitor “displays richer graphics with maximum colour precision.” It comes equipped with a variety of specialized modes to optimize workflow and “allows designers to achieve creative excellence, accentuating image detail for simplified editing, creating and visualizing,” said the company. “Designers understand the importance of colour accuracy,” said J.Y. Hu, VP of Business Line Management at BenQ America. “With the BenQ PD2700Q, they have a range of benefits that present their work in the best possible light while streamlining workflow. Packed with custom features, the PD2700Q offers incredible value, allowing designers to work efficiently while unleashing their creative energy.”
The BenQ PD2700Q monitor displays all the fine details at 2K QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. The creative canvas features 10-bit depths of colour and 100% sRGB colour to represent a wider range of more than 1 billion colours. The IPS panel expands the working space and offers a wider viewing angle (178 degrees in both horizontal and vertical planes) with “crystal-clear clarity and exceptional image quality at all angles.”
Three premium display modes allow designers to easily configure settings to best fit their working environment and reveal the finest details. The Dark Room Mode modifies brightness and contrast, creating the optimal setting for those designers working in darkened, post-production environments. The CAD/CAM Mode offers superior image contrast, allowing for lines and shapes of technical illustrations to stand out, especially when paired with design software solutions. The Animation Mode enhances details in dark shadows, allowing designers to fine-tune creations effortlessly without altering areas that don’t need to be retouched. The Animation Mode also offers 10 levels of display brightness for a clear working plane in any ambient light environment.
Additonally, the PD2700Q offers multifunctional display capabilities for extra efficiency. This allows users to divide the monitor for side-by-side window viewing. Designers can also take application window multitasking to the next level with BenQ’s optional Display Pilot software, which provides enhanced desktop partition for multi-application viewing. Height, tilt and swivel are fully adjustable with automatic full vertical monitor orientation. Also, BenQ’s Eye-Care features include ZeroFlicker to prevent the harmful effects of flickering and Low Blue Light, which filters out harmful blue light that can cause eye fatigue and irritation. “Together, these technologies diminish eye fatigue and discomfort, even after long hours of continuous work,” said the company.
