The Canadian Printing Industries Association (CPIA) has announced that it will nominate Richard Armstrong, President of Heidelberg Canada, for an Honourary Life Membership for his outstanding achievements and commitment to the printing industry. The proposal will be made by Sandy Stephens, Chairman of the CPIA at its Annual General Teleconference Meeting on March 25.
“To receive a Honourary Life Membership in the CPIA is the highest degree of recognition that the association can bestow. Richard’s significant contributions to our industry over the course of the last 30 years is both impressive and motivating,” said Stephens. Honourary Life Membership is an expression by the Association of its appreciation for distinguished services to, or in the interests of, the CPIA.
The nomination comes as Armstrong is set to retire from Heidelberg Canada at the end of the month after having served as its President for the last 14 years. “The Canadian Printing Industries Association would like to acknowledge the patronage that this gentleman has provided the industry throughout his many years,” said Brian Ellis, Executive Director of CPIA and former Marketing Director at Heidelberg Canada.
“Heidelberg Canada has provided consistent and unwavering support to the industry and CPIA regardless of the economic challenges our industry has faced throughout the years – evidence of Richard’s commitment and devotion to the industry as President of Heidelberg,” Stephens added.
“I am delighted to have been nominated for such a prestigious award,” said Armstrong. “Our industry has undergone tremendous change and the future of it lies within those remaining organizations that have adapted and committed to the future of print. I have always been supportive of those organizations and their leaders, including the CPIA, with respect to my commitment in helping the industry move forward.”
