GPA, a market leader in substrate solutions for digital, wide-format and offset printing, has added Touch Class Specialty Fine Papers to its product lines. “As the name implies, this collection is meant to be experienced through touch. With a rich, tactile feel and a special surface treatment, these papers offer added resistance to fingerprints, water and even oils – far surpassing traditional paper performance,” said the company. “These papers were originally introduced to the European market by Fedrigoni. They’re now exclusively available to the North American market through GPA.”
Their sophisticated appearance and superior performance make Touch Class papers ideal for everything from restaurant menus and museum maps, to wedding save-the-dates, family photo cards, birth announcements and more. They can also be transformed through a variety of finishing processes – including letterpress, folding, scoring, gluing, die cutting, embossing, and debossing. For more dramatic results, the sheets can also be enhanced with foils or dimensional embellishments. GPA added that, because if their unique surface treatment, they’re “the first uncoated papers in the world” that perform beautifully with post-press embellishments produced by Scodix and MGI technologies. There are two different versions: Nature Touch Class Cover (offers a smooth finish and creamy, natural white shade) and Tintoretto Touch Class Cover (a white sheet with a felt texture on both sides). The papers are compatible with HP Indigo, dry toner and offset presses, and are also FSC-certified and acid-free with archival properties.
