Specifically targeting “Generation Y”, HP has launched a new pocket-size photo printer – the HP Sprocket – that allows users to instantly print from their mobile phones. The device connects mobile phones via Bluetooth and uses Zink technology to print photographs sized 2” x 3.” The Zink technology outputs smudge-proof, water-resistant and colourful photos without ink or toner cartridges. With the HP Sprocket app, free on Android and iOS, users will be able to print directly from their social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram and so on. Supporting a range of file types including jpeg, gif and png, the app enables users to work on almost any image format, the OEM said. The technology is ideal for photography enthusiasts who love to capture their day-to-day activities.
“While smartphones have made it very simple to store our memories digitally, the power of printing photographs cannot be underestimated,” said Raj Kumar Rishi, Senior Director of Printing Systems at HP India. “The moment a digital photograph gets printed, it becomes a tangible treasure one can cherish for life.”
