Next DIA meeting to explore “Substrates – The Ultimate Marketing Edge”

diafeb17-inThe topic of the next meeting of the Digital Imaging Association on February 17, 2016 will be Substrates – The Ultimate Marketing Edge. In the marketing world, even the best innovators have notorious flops. The risks are even greater for process manufacturers like printers, who must continually innovate with new and iterative products to excite customers and generate new revenue. But the path to profitable innovation is paved with challenges – tighter launch windows, volatile market swings, and increasing demand for unique, customized products.
The print industry has recognized the need for increased speed to market with promotional and packaging for short-run product initiatives. As we have seen at the last two DIA events, inkjet printing technology is showing significant growth in the North American print market to fulfill these needs. The DIA meeting on Wednesday, February 17 will look at how manufacturers and distributors of paper and alternative substrates are upgrading and changing their processes and products to meet these new marketing demands.
diafeb17a-inCompanies presenting will include:

  • Domtar – will give a manufacturer’s unique perspective as it sees the change in paper manufacturing and shipments migrating from traditional offset stocks to inkjet grades, with emphasis on the impact that paper, linearization and ink have on digital technology.
  • Spicers – coupled with the advancements in manufacturing, printing and finishing technologies in the 21st Century, the creative palette associated with paper knows no bounds. Spicers will explore the wonders of paper and its continued relevance in 2016 and beyond.

As mentioned, the meeting will take place Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Spicers, 200 Galcat Drive in Vaughan, Ontario. Refreshments will be served at 6 pm. The meeting starts promptly at 7 pm ends at 8:30 pm sharp. Be sure to sign up for this meeting and discover the truly unique papers and substrates that technology is creating.
