As the weather starts to warm up, so are our efforts on many fronts. With our website traffic up 10% over the same time last year, we’re working on some new, cost-effective online packages for our current and potential advertisers. For example, many in our industry have posted corporate and sales videos on YouTube. Some even have their own channels. But are they being viewed with the frequency they should be? Our new online programs are an opportunity to post your videos (and other resources such as case studies, whitepapers and testimonials) on our website, and reach the prospects you want. If you’d like more information, please see page 5 of this issue or call me at 1-877-513-3999.

Speaking of our website, you can expect a bold new look in the next few weeks with easy navigation, the latest news, more articles and special features, and more helpful “how-to” stories on key topics. We’ll send out announcements before the big re-design.

Drupa is the world’s largest printing industry tradeshow, being held this year from May 31 to June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany. We’re already presenting several helpful “drupa expert” features written by some of the best minds in our industry on our website leading up to this year’s event. And be sure to check our April issue that will preview all that drupa 2016 has to offer.

Two of our top Canadian suppliers are also staging special events this month. Insource will be hosting a Riso Inkjet Printer Meet, Eat and Learn Seminar April 6 at Mississauga’s Corporate Event Centre. Print Digital Solutions (PDS) is having an Open House at OKI Data’s Head Office in Mississauga April 14. Check our news pages for more information or phone the companies if you’re interested.

Have you submitted your printed “masterpieces” for judging lately? Well, the Ontario Printing & Imaging Association (OPIA) Excellence in Print Awards competition is calling for entries by March 30. This competition is an ideal way to have your work recognized by peers and clients. Also, the winning entries are sent to the Printing Industries of America (PIA) for their own Premier Print Awards competition that honours the best printers in our industry worldwide. That event’s early-bird deadline is April 20 and entry deadline is May 20.

Finally, being a proud Irish-Canadian, I hope you’ll wear something green Thursday, March 17, raise a Guinness, and enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations wherever you are. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade here in Toronto is always a wonderful spectacle.

As always, stay positive and stay focused.
