View from the publisher – March 2013

We started 2013 with a bang and it looks like the momentum will definitely continue.
First, we have teamed up with an internationally renowned online and web-to-print marketing firm and I’m happy to report that Graphic Arts Magazine has already sold several new online marketing packages, as well as unique online and in-magazine combination packages. There are still some yearly exclusives and other strategies available. If you’re interested in seeing the new ways we can help you by using the best available online tactics combined with the powerful reach of our magazine and our website, call me personally at (905) 513-3999.
Second, we’ve just completed the initial redesign of our website, www.graphicartsmag.com, and will be continuing with many upgrades and other traffic-building features and user-friendly strategies. Our ultimate goal is to make our site your one trusted, easy-to-use source for printing industry news as well as a more cost-efficient way to get your advertising message across.
Please check it out – you’ll notice several differences. It’s easier to view with larger type and clearer images, it’s more mobile friendly (you can keep up to date from your laptop, tablet or mobile device) and it’s much more engaging and user-friendly (we always welcome your feedback). As always, we’ll bring you the same ongoing detailed news coverage you’ve come to expect. Watch for more news, features and improvements in the coming months. If you have any comments or suggestions, we’re all ears!
Third, we’ve already booked our space at the biennial Grafik’ Art Show at Place Bonaventure in Montreal April 25-27 and I’m looking forward to seeing many old friends and making new ones in Montreal. Please stop by booth 1020 and say hello. You can also enter a free draw for a fabulous prize.
Fourth, we are delighted to be producing this year’s official Show Guide for Graphics Canada, Canada’s largest graphics, printing and converting show November 21-23 at the International Centre in Mississauga. We’ll also be involved in selling booth space so if you need to get into the official Graphics Canada Show Guide, please contact us.
Congratulations to the International Sign Association Expo for selling out for the first time in its history. This milestone is proof of the growing popularity of large format and a tribute to the hard work of show organizers. The Expo is April 3-6 in Las Vegas.
And being Irish, how could I possibly finish without mentioning St. Patrick’s Day Sunday, March 17. To all my friends and fellow Canadians, enjoy the celebrations in your province – and please have at least one Guinness!
As always, stay positive and stay focused.
